Student Phones

To report troubles with your phone service or to request voice mail passwords to be reset it will be necessary for you to complete a Telecommunications Services Service Request. These forms are available in the Miramar University Apartment Office (Miramar Club House). A spare phone will be available for determining if the problem is with your equipment or if a technician will need to be sent to resolve the problem.

Troubles reported to Telecommunications Services and the problem is with your equipment, you will be charged $30.00.

Voice mail troubles reported by 2:00 pm will be completed by 5:00 pm that day any other troubles will be completed by 5:00 pm the next day.

The cabling within the buildings is the responsibility of Camden Properties. Problems with cabling will be reported to Camden Properties for resolution.

Neither TAMU-CC or Miramar personnel will attempt to service your personal phone equipment.

Logging In

  1. Call your voice mailbox:

    • On Campus from your telephone: dial 6000
    • Off Campus from any telephone: dial 825-6000
  2. Input your mailbox (extension number):

    • On campus from your telephone:
      Press the # sign
    • On campus from another telephone:
      Enter your mailbox (extension number), then the # sign
    • Off campus local or long distance:
      Enter your mailbox (extension number), and then the # sign
  3. Input your password, followed by the # sign:

    • On or off campus, the default is your extension number (You will then be asked to change your password the first time you log on.)

Changing your password

  1. Log into voice mail
  2. Press 84
  3. Enter the new password (up to 6 digits) followed by the # sign
  4. Re-enter the new password followed by the # sign

Recording External and Temporary Greetings

  1. Log into voice mail
  2. Press 82
  3. Press 1 for External Greeting or Press 3 for Temporary Greeting
    (Internal Greeting (Press 2) is not necessary)
  4. Press 5 to record. Wait for the tone before you start to speak.
  5. Press # sign to end the recording.
  6. Press 2 to review recording.

Setting a date for a Temporary Message:

To set an expiration date for temporary greeting, press 9. Enter the month, day and time, pressing # sign after each entry. For current month or day, press # sign only. For the standard expiration time of 12:01 am with any future date press # sign for time. Pressing ### set "no expiration date."

You must delete your temporary greeting to get your external greeting back.

Delete a Greeting

  1. Press 2 to hear message (s)
  2. Press 6 to go to the next message
  3. Press 4 to go to the previous message
  4. Press 76 to delete message (NOTE: If you do not delete your messages, they will be automatically erased in 24 hours.)

Playing your Messages

  1. Log into your voice mail
  2. Press 2 to hear message(s)
  3. Press 6 to go to the next message
  4. Press 4 to go to the previous message
  5. Press 76 to delete the message
    (NOTE: If you do not delete your messasges, they will be automatically erased in 24 hours.)
